Spiced Chai Cold Foam Recipe
Pair this with a Chai Matcha Latte or Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew!
Ingredients
heavy cream
chai syrup or chai tea powder
vanilla extract
milk
Equipment:
Frothing Equipment:
- Mason jar with lid
- Cocktail shaker
- French Press
- Hand Held Frother
- Milk Frother
- Whisk and bowl
- Blender
Other:
- measuring spoons
- Measuring cups
- glass cup
Recipe Calls For
- 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp of chai syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 oz of 2% milk
- 1-star anise for decorating top of cold foam (don’t actually eat this)
- masala chai powder for sprinkling on top
How To Make Spiced Chai Cold Foam
- In your choice of frother, place all ingredients except star anise and masala chai powder in frother equipment and stir until well combined.
- When well combined begin to froth until a uniform thick texture forms. This is best done when using a french press as it evenly forms the bubbles, but we love using our handheld frother as it does a pretty good job! Plus, it’s way easier to clean!
- Pour over your desired drink!
Recipe Notes:
- We liked to use thick milk for creating the perfect cold foam, if you swap out the heavy whipping cream the foam won’t last as long and the bubbles will be really airy and uniform. we tried using only 2% milk for a lower calorie alternative and the froth literaly unbubbled in seconds 🙄.
- Make sure you use chai syrup for your chai flavoring for the best taste, however, if you dont have any or dont feel like making it. You can try cold brewing a chai tea bag in your heavy cream and milk for a few hours to extract some of the chai flavors. However, keep in mind it won’t be as tasty or as sweet. You can also place chai powder in the mixture and stir the 2% milk with it until it dissolves and then incorporates the rest of the ingredients.
- The Cold foam should keep for about 2 days if placed in an airtight container =)
