Eggnog Latte Recipe FAQs
What does an eggnog latte have in it?
Eggnog lattes are famously known for their comforting taste of eggnog and are most often enjoyed during the colder months of the year. These famous eggnog drinks have milk, espresso, eggnog, sweeteners such as sugar or honey, vanilla extract, and spices like nutmeg and cinnamon used as a garnish. Some like to top their warm eggnog lattes off with whipped cream to make them extra creamy and sweet.
Does eggnog froth well?
Yes, it is very simple to froth eggnog just as it is to froth milk. Simply use a milk frother or other milk frothing method to froth your eggnog and enjoy! If you’d like a warm eggnog froth then simply steam or heat your eggnog in the microwave or over the stovetop. Once your eggnog is hot you froth it using a milk frother, immersion blender, or another heat safe frothing method. Once frothed pour over your beverage of choice and enjoy!
What mixes well with eggnog?
Eggnog mixes well with so many different spice combinations and drinks combinations. You can enjoy eggnog with flavors such as matcha, pumpkin spice, or vanilla. Spices that go well with eggnog are nutmeg and cinnamon which are most often used as garnishes in drinks containing eggnog. If you’re over the age of 21 and would like to spice up your eggnog 😉 you can enjoy it with alcohols such as bourbon, rum, whiskey, scotch, and brandy. Some of our favorite things to drink eggnog with are Bailey Irish cream and Kahlua coffee liqueur. Most often eggnog is enjoyed as an eggnog latte by mixing it with coffee or espresso and steamed milk!

Yes, eggnog lattes are essentially a normal latte consisting of the usual espresso and steamed milk, the only difference is that eggnog lattes have eggnog in them. While most lattes will use espresso, if espresso isn’t available you can substitute espresso for strongly brewed coffee.
Where does Eggnog come from?
Eggnog is said to originally hail from the British drink “posset” and was used in celebrations, later on, the further creation of eggnog was typically served during the winter season and since Christmas is a grand celebration it fits perfectly.
